Summary:
Similar to the story of Rumplestiltskin, this is a retelling of a Cornish tale. Duffy comes to help spin and weave for the squire despite the fact that she can do neither. The devil tells her that he will do the work for three years, then he will take her away unless she can guess his name. Three years go by and she earns the credit for making the best clothing in the town. But her time is running out so she asks the housekeeper for help. The housekeeper gives her advice, which when followed. solves her problem. The only bad result is that all the clothes the devil made turn to ashes!
